Hi all – details of news and runs below.
Welcome to new members Eliot Saxton, Paul Blunt, Lorenzo Cerreta, Alasdair Purkis and Mat Tarrant: happy running with Beeston AC!
Well done to all our marathoners and their supporters at the weekend, with a special mention for Dave Beighton (who ran Chester and got a fantastic PB on his birthday!), and everyone else who was running or racing.
Dates for diaries: the Christmas Party will be on Friday, 16th December at Chilwell Manor Golf Club, £20 a ticket. This includes food and a disco. Please let Phil Herd know if you would like ticket(s).
The mystery pub crawl will be on Wednesday, 7th December. Details to follow.
The AGM will take place on Wednesday, 9th November, at Beeston Marina. The Single Gravs Handicap will take place prior to the meeting.
The Tim Wealthall Miles are being advertised for Friday, 28 October at Harvey Hadden Stadium starting at7.00 pm. If you fancy entering, the application form is attached.
Cross country race dates are below for the 2022/23 season. Nearly there! Mud glorious mud.

Club runs
Gaby Neher leads trail runs on Thursdays, 6.20 for 6.30 pm, and the current meeting point is at the White Lion, Town Street, Bramcote. It would be advisable to take a head or chest torch and wear light coloured clothing.
Friday,: 6.25 for 6.30 pm depart, Chilwell Olympia. Toilets and changing rooms are open. It’s the figure of 8 route round Attenborough Nature Reserve. Please bring a chest or head torch.
Saturday, 8 October: Beeston parkrun is again CANCELLED and won’t be on until 15 October as part of the course is being used for other events. Why not try another local parkrun? Wollaton Hall parkrun will be on, and a number of us will be heading that way on Saturday. See https://www.parkrun.org.uk/beeston/ for details of local parkrun locations.
Sunday, 9 October: Unfortunately John and Gaby are not available again – if anyone would like to put themselves forward to lead the Sunday run, please get in touch or post on the Club Facebook page.
The Goose Fair Gallop is on today – good luck everyone taking part! Ditto the Shelton Striders 10K and any other races.
Tuesday, 11 October: The speed session: these are usually at the Moor Lane running track, NG9 3FH in the summer months but the location will change as the darker nights approach. Further details of the session will be posted on Facebook. Sessions start at 6.30 pm; please arrive early to warm up if appropriate.
Wednesday, 12 October: Please arrive at 6.25 for 6.30 pm depart, Chilwell Olympia. Neil will post the routes on Facebook as usual.

Sat 15 Oct: North Midlands League, Markeaton Park, Derby Sat 22 Oct: Midlands Relays, Aldersley Leisure Village, Wolverhampton Sat 29 Oct: British Masters Relays, West Park, Long Eaton (for those over 35) Sat 5 Nov: English National Relays, Berry Hill Park, Mansfield Sat 12 Nov: North Midlands League, West Glebe Park, Corby Sat 19 Nov: Midlands 7 & 5 Mile Championships, Bulwell Hall Park Sat 3 Dec: North Midlands League, Shipley Country Park, Heanor Sat 7 Jan: County Championships, Shipley Country Park, Heanor Sat 14 Jan: North Midlands League, Berry Hill Park, Mansfield Sat 28 Jan: Midlands Championships, Leamington Spa Sat 25 Feb: English National Championships, TBC (no longer Harewood House) TBC: East Midlands League (usually 4 x Sunday dates)
Charlie is looking for members who would like to compete in the British Masters relays on Saturday, 29 October at West Park, Long Eaton. Legs are 3K, the women V35+ and men’s 65+ race usually starts at 1.00 pm, and the men’s V35-44, V45-54 (both 5 legs) and V55-64 (4 legs) start at 2.00 pm. The Midland Masters relay championships are usually also incorporated and last year teams qualified for inclusion if at least one member of the team is a member of MMAC. It’s £6 a head and entries close 19th October. Please let Charlie know, either by contacting him through his email address or via his Facebook post if you would like to be included.
