A BIG thank you to the many Beestonites who came out in support of members running the Robin Hood Half Marathon – this was much appreciated by the runners. Many thanks also go to Kim for organising food and music afterwards – the Pesky Alligators and the jacket potatoes at the Vic were great! Early bird entries available for 2023 at £5 off until 9 October.
Dates for diaries: the Christmas Party will be on Friday, 16th December at Chilwell Manor Golf Club, £20 a ticket. This includes food and a disco. Please let Phil Herd know if you would like ticket(s).
The mystery pub crawl will be on Wednesday, 7th December. Details to follow.
The AGM will take place on Wednesday, 9th November, at Beeston Marina. The Single Gravs Handicap will take place prior to the meeting.
The Tim Wealthall Miles are being advertised for Friday, 28 October at Harvey Hadden Stadium starting at7.00 pm. If you fancy entering, the application form is attached.
Entries are still open for the Shelton Striders 10K on Sunday, 9 October, 9.30 am. Full details at https://sheltonstriders.org.uk/our-annual-10k-race/.

Club runs
Gaby Neher leads trail runs on Thursdays, 6.20 for 6.30 pm, and the current meeting point is at the White Lion, Town Street, Bramcote. However, she is not free this week due to work commitments. Regulars are still welcome to come along and make up their own route and enjoy a drink in the pub after! It would be advisable to take a head or chest torch and wear light coloured clothing.
Friday, 30 September: 6.25 for 6.30 pm depart, Chilwell Olympia. Toilets and changing rooms are open. It’s the parkrun reverse route, back via The Strand, 5.5 miles.
Saturday, 1 October: Beeston parkrun is again CANCELLED for the next 2 weeks and won’t be on until 15 October as part of the course is being used for other events. Why not try another local parkrun? Wollaton Hall parkrun will be on, along with a number of other local parkruns.
Sunday, 2 October: Gaby and John are not free to lead a run this week; if you would like to volunteer in their place please could you get in touch?

Apologies if anyone has been missed off the list, please post on the Club Facebook page. Naomi is fund raising for the British Heart Foundation and Anders is raising funds for Tommy’s the baby charity. The easiest way to track runners is by using the London Marathon App.
The Dove Dale Dash is also on today – who could resist the challenge of the charge through the river?! More information at http://www.dovedaledash.co.uk/ – the race starts at 11 am but runners are advised to arrive early to allow time for parking, entry etc.
Tuesday, 4 October: The speed session: these are usually at the Moor Lane running track, NG9 3FH in the summer months but the location will change as the darker nights approach. Further details of the session will be posted on Facebook. Sessions start at 6.30 pm; please arrive early to warm up if appropriate.
Wednesday, 5 October: Please arrive at 6.25 for 6.30 pm depart, Chilwell Olympia. Neil will post the routes on Facebook as usual.

Charlie is looking for members who would like to compete in the British Masters relays on Saturday, 29 October at West Park, Long Eaton. Legs are 3K, the women V35+ and men’s 65+ race usually starts at 1.00 pm, and the men’s V35-44, V45-54 (both 5 legs) and V55-64 (4 legs) start at 2.00 pm. The Midland Masters relay championships are usually also incorporated and last year teams qualified for inclusion if at least one member of the team is a member of MMAC. It’s £6 a head and entries close 19th October. Please let Charlie know, either by contacting him through his email address or via his Facebook post if you would like to be included.
