Hi all – details of runs and news below.

Welcome to new members Stephen Glendon and Alex Fielden: happy running with Beeston AC!

Well done to everyone who participated in the Notts AAA County Championships – some great results! Current standings in the XC League are attached.

The iconic Eyam Half Marathon is back on 15 May – early bird entries until 31 January. Who doesn’t want to do a half marathon with 1200 ft of ascent and stunning views! This is NOT a PB course 😊. See https://eyamhalfmarathon.org.uk/ for entry details.

Membership: You should also have received an email from Dan Rawson, our Treasurer, advising that for the majority membership fees are now payable for 2022/3. The fee remains £20 and the preferred payment method is bank transfer: Account name Beeston AC, sort code 40-10-06 account number 62266253. Please include your full name in the payment reference field. Alternatively, please send cheques to Mr D Rawson, 95 Exchange Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 6BX.

Club runs

Friday, 14 January: 6.25 for 6.30 pm depart, Chilwell Olympia. The run will be the Toton route, just under 6 miles.   Toilets and changing rooms are available at Chilwell Olympia.

Saturday, 15 January: See you at Beeston parkrun, 9.00 am at the Weirfields, Beeston Rylands NG9 1LZ http://www.parkrun.org.uk/beeston/. Details of other local parkruns (including Wollaton Hall) are also available on the weblink.

It’s also the final North Midlands Cross Country League race today at Berry Hill, Mansfield – good luck to all taking part. Ladies’ race 13.50 and men’s race at 14.20.

Sunday, 16 January: Please meet at 8.50 am for a 9.00 am start from Stanton Gate, Moorbridge Lane. Bennerley Viaduct is the destination. Many thanks to Steve Mason for a lovely, if muddy, route from Gedling Country Park last week.

Tuesday, 17 January: Speed session – details will be posted on Facebook. Sessions start at 6.30 pm and please arrive early to warm up if appropriate.

Wednesday, 18 January: please arrive at 6.25 for 6.30 pm depart, Chilwell Olympia. Neil will post the routes on Facebook as usual. No improvers as Penny and Chris are taking a break.

Gaby Neher is also leading trail runs most Thursdays, 6.30 pm which usually start by the Moor Lane running track, NG9 3FH. Details to follow on Facebook.
