For those of us who enjoy trail running, entries are currently open for the Belper Rover 30K (well nearly) at https://www.evententry.co.uk/The-Belper-Rover-2022 . The race is on Sunday, 14 August, 9.00 am (8.00 am for walkers). Last year, we were given a baked potato and bottle of beer at the end – well worth the effort!

Midland Counties XC Championships: a reminder from Charlie that the closing date for entries is 14 January for these championships at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield on Saturday, 29 January. These also incorporate the Midland Masters Championships – it is £15 to join MMAC as second claim. Charlie will be doing entries on 12 January for those who have paid him £9 otherwise it is slightly more expensive to enter yourself.
Membership: You should also have received an email from Dan Rawson, our Treasurer, advising that for continuing members membership fees are now payable for 2022/3. The fee remains £20 and the preferred payment method is bank transfer: Account name Beeston AC, sort code 40-10-06 account number 62266253. Please include your full name in the payment reference field. Alternatively, please send cheques to Mr D Rawson, 95 Exchange Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 6BX.

Club runs
Friday, 7 January: 6.25 for 6.30 pm depart, Chilwell Olympia. The run will be the parkrun route via The Strand so please bring a head or chest torch. Toilets and changing rooms are available at Chilwell Olympia.
Saturday, 8 January: See you at Beeston parkrun, 9.00 am at the Weirfields, Beeston Rylands NG9 1LZ http://www.parkrun.org.uk/beeston/. Details of other local parkruns (including Wollaton Hall) are also available on the web link. It’s also the Notts AAA Cross Country County Championships today at Berry Hill, Mansfield – good luck to all taking part. Sunday, 9 January: as it’s the second Sunday in the month we’re off to new pastures at Gedling with Steve Mason in charge of the route. Please meet at 8.50 for a 9.00 am depart at the Spring Lane car park, NG4 4PE (the first, lower car park as you arrive). The route will be about 10 miles, there will be a hill (just the one?) and mud. Tuesday, 11 January: Speed session – details will be posted on Facebook. Sessions start at 6.30 pm and please arrive early to warm up if appropriate.
Wednesday, 12 January: please arrive at 6.25 for 6.30 pm depart, Chilwell Olympia. Neil will post the routes on Facebook as usual. No improvers as Penny and Chris are taking a break. Gaby Neher is also leading trail runs most Thursdays, 6.30 pm which usually start by the Moor Lane running track, NG9 3FH. Details to follow on Facebook. |

The remaining North Midlands XC League race is Berry Hill Park, Mansfield (15 January). The ladies’ race will be at 13.50 (6K) and the men’s race (10K) at 14.20.
East Midlands XC League dates, 11.00 am start (2 laps for men, 1 for ladies):
Sunday, 23 January, Holme Pierrepont Country Park Sunday 30 January – Bramcote Hills Park Sunday 6 February – Colwick Woods Sunday 13 February – West Park, Long Eaton.
