Friday, 24 May – there will be a training run from Chilwell Olympia; meet in the foyer at 6.25 for a 6.30 pm depart. Distance 5-7 miles, drinks after in the Crown, usually from 9.00 pm onwards. Further information on Facebook. Attenborough Cricket Club has its annual beer festival and our route may just take us that way so bring a few pennies with you!!

Saturday, 25 May – Beeston parkrun, 9.00 am at the Weirfields, Beeston Rylands NG9 1LZ http://www.parkrun.org.uk/beeston/ .

Sunday, 26 May – the Sunday run will be from Moorbridge Lane, Stanton Gate, (meeting time at 8.50 am to start at 9.00 am), further details to follow on Facebook. When you park on Stanton Gate please can all driveways be kept clear for residents and avoid parking opposite. We have also been asked not to park too close to the entrance to the side road (occasionally a vehicle with boat on trailer needs additional turning space). Thanks all!

2. Upcoming Races on the Calendar

Road: May 29 Race  Summer League 2 Flowserve, Balderton Newark, NG24 3BU

Directions: If coming from the Newark direction (40 mph limit) the entrance is immediately at the bottom over the bridge – please indicate right as you approach the bridge. If coming from the Balderton direction (30 mph limit) the entrance is on the left immediately before the bridge.

Course: We believe the start remains the same as last year. The course is narrow for approx 6 miles/10K and is out and back. It is over a new pedestrian bridge, dead flat and almost dead straight. Last year there was a water stop very close to the turn round point. The course is open to the public so walkers, dog walkers and cyclists have as much right to be on the course as we have. Please run on the right hand side on the return.

Facilities: Car parking – please follow instructions. We have been given special one off access to the Flowserve industrial site as well as on the hard standing and grass areas outside. 3* men’s & ladies toilets. Fully licensed bar open from 6.45pm.

New member? This is how it works: Notts AAA organise five races throughout the Summer from April to August. This is called the Summer League and is open to all clubs affiliated to Notts AAA. The distance ranges from 5 miles to 10K. There is no need to pre-enter these races and they are free for members. Simply turn up and run. Club vests must be worn. As you cross the finishing line, you will be given a disc with your finishing position. The full results are listed on the Notts AAA website shortly afterwards. www.nottsaaa.org.uk The full Summer League rules are also listed on this website. No personal stereos or headphones are allowed.
