Hi all – details of news and runs below.

Well done: everyone who raced at Hexgreave yesterday! A great turnout and very enjoyable evening. Hopefully the results will be available soon. The next SL race will be at HP Country Park on 11^th May.

Notts AAA Track and Field Championships 14/15 May: Entries for this year's Nottinghamshire AAA Track and Field Championships are open.  This will be at Moorways, Derby. All entries are online only via the Notts AAA website.  Entry links can be found on the track and field tab www.nottsaaa.org/landingpage/tf-county-champs-2022. The closing date for all entries is tomorrow, 22nd April. This is your chance to have a go and whatever you fancy (javelin, shot putt, triple jump, track?). This could be a great day out.

Notts County Development League: Notts AAA have come up with a proposal for a track and field league which will be an opportunity for older athletes to compete against the youngsters. Dates for meetings are 24 April and 29 May at Newark, and 26 June and 4 September at Mansfield. Full details are at https://www.nottsaaa.org/landingpage/notts-county-development-league. These events include a 3 x 1000m relay (5 x 200m for all 3 so for example each runner would run for 30 seconds and have 60 seconds rest). There will also be a 5K parlaaf, each runner running 200m, handing over then crossing the infield to resume start position.

Club runs

Friday, 22 April: 6.25 for 6.30 pm depart, Chilwell Olympia. The run will be to Beeston parkrun and back via The Strand, around 5.75 miles. Toilets and changing rooms are available at Chilwell Olympia.

Saturday, 23 April: See you at Beeston parkrun, 9.00 am at the Weirfields, Beeston Rylands NG9 1LZ http://www.parkrun.org.uk/beeston/. Details of other local parkruns (including Wollaton Hall) are also available on the web link.

Sunday, 24 April: Please meet at 8.50 am for a 9.00 am start from Stanton Gate, Moorbridge Lane.

Tuesday, 26 April: The speed session: these are usually at the Moor Lane running track, NG9 3FH (though there may sometimes be hills elsewhere!). Further details of the session will be posted on Facebook. Sessions start at 6.30 pm; please arrive early to warm up if appropriate.

Wednesday, 27 April: please arrive at 6.25 for 6.30 pm depart, Chilwell Olympia. Neil will post the routes on Facebook as usual.

Gaby Neher is also leading trail runs on Thursdays, 6.30 pm, meeting point to be confirmed on Facebook. This week it will be from the White Lion pub, Town Street.

Dates for diaries: The provisional date for the Trent Lock Handicap is Wednesday, 22 June, and for the Double Gravs the date is Wednesday, 10 August.

Trent 5 2022: The Trent 5 will be on Wednesday, 25 May, 7.15 pm. Please advertise the race to anyone you believe may be interested. Entries are already open here. There will shortly be a request for marshals.
