Many thanks to everyone who turned up to volunteer at Beeston parkrun for our takeover – over 30 of you!
Dates for diaries: The provisional date for the Trent Lock Handicap is Wednesday, 22 June, and for the Double Gravs the date is Wednesday, 10 August.
Notts AAA Track and Field Championships: Entries for this year's Nottinghamshire AAA Track and Field Championships are now open. This will be at Moorways Stadium, Derby. All entries are online only via the Notts AAA website. Entry links can be found on the homepage www.nottsaaa.org as well as on the track and field tab www.nottsaaa.org/landingpage/tf-county-champs-2022. The closing date for all entries is Friday, 22nd April.
New Track and Field League for Notts: Notts AAA have come up with a proposal for a track and field league which will be an opportunity for older athletes to compete against the youngsters. Dates for meetings are 24 April and 29 May at Newark, and 26 June and 4 September at Mansfield. More details to follow on Facebook.
Andy Hunter has sent in the attached poster for an Open Day at Trent Valley Sailing Club on 1 May, for anyone who fancies a go at sailing!

Club runs
Friday, 15 April: 6.25 for 6.30 pm depart, Chilwell Olympia. The run will be the figure of 8 route round Attenborough Nature Reserve in reverse. Toilets and changing rooms are available at Chilwell Olympia.
Saturday, 16 April: See you at Beeston parkrun, 9.00 am at the Weirfields, Beeston Rylands NG9 1LZ http://www.parkrun.org.uk/beeston/. Details of other local parkruns (including Wollaton Hall) are also available on the web link.
Sunday, 17 April: Please meet at 8.50 am for a 9.00 am start from Stanton Gate, Moorbridge Lane. It’s a Bank Holiday weekend, could it be …. Locko Park?! In which case it’s a slightly longer run than usual of up to 12 miles.
Tuesday, 19 April: The speed session: now that the lighter evenings are here these will normally take place at the Moor Lane running track, NG9 3FH (though there may sometimes be hills elsewhere!). Further details of the session will be posted on Facebook. Sessions start at 6.30 pm; please arrive early to warm up if appropriate.
Wednesday, 20 April: PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO RUN FROM CHILWELL OLYMPIA TONIGHT AS THE SUMMER LEAGUE IS ON.
The first Summer League of the season takes place at Hexgreave, NG22 8LS, start time 7.15 pm. For the benefit of new members to the Club, this is a trail race (approximately 5 miles) in private grounds which the owners kindly make available to the runners for this event.
A quick explanation for new members. The Summer League is a series of races organised by Notts AAA. These races are open to all clubs affiliated to Notts AAA. The distances range from 5 miles to 10K on road or trail. There is no need to pre-enter these races and they are free to enter for members. Simply turn up in your club vest and run. You will be given a finishing token at the end. Please pass this token to Dave Cross our Road League Secretary. All races are on a Wednesday and start at 7.15pm. See below for the full list.

Trent 5 2022: The Trent 5 will be on Wednesday, 25 May, 7.15 pm. Please advertise the race to anyone you believe may be interested. Entries are already open here. There will shortly be a request for marshals.
