Vacancy on Club Committee and Notice of open meeting/EGM

Dear Member,

After several years of sterling service as Coaching Coordinator on the Beeston AC committee, Mike Blades has decided for personal reasons to stand down. On behalf of the Committee and all at Beeston AC, I would like to express our sincere thanks for the hard work Mike has put into the post, particularly in setting up the Wednesday and Friday evening training sessions. Mike will remain a member of Beeston AC and intends to join in as many sessions as he can fit in around getting married and other pleasurable activities. We wish him, and Claire, all the best in 2019!
Consequently there is a vacancy on the Committee for the position of Coaching Coordinator. A brief job description is attached below. Mike is very happy to discuss the role with any interested candidates mike.blades@icloud.com Alternatively please speak to myself or any committee member. Although possession of the Leadership in Running Fitness is listed as ‘essential’ we are happy to appoint an individual who doesn’t have this qualification providing they commit to obtaining it at the earliest opportunity. (It is a one day course, run locally and paid for by the club)
Candidates should submit their name, together with the names of a proposer and seconder, to Chris Bexton as Club Secretary by February 22nd.
There will be an open meeting of Beeston AC on Wednesday March 27th, 8pm at the Victoria Hotel (upstairs room, not outside!!) to discuss anything the membership wishes to raise but particularly up coming events like the Trent 5 and the Broxtowe 5k. This meeting will also include a very short Extraordinary General Meeting to allow the election of the new Coaching Coordinator.
Once again, I’d like to thank Mike for his valuable contribution to Beeston AC and we look forward to welcoming his replacement onto the committee.
Best wishes
Simon Elliott
Chair, Beeston AC
