Runs and Races with Beeston AC

BEESTON AC

Bramcote Park 5k & 2k runs – marshals required!

Beeston AC are helping LLeisure by doing the on the night organisation of this year’s races on Wednesday May 1st. The 2k starts at 6.30 and the 5k 7ish. Many thanks to everyone who has volunteered to help – just a handful more would be much appreciated, thanks. In return LLeisure are letting us have the Chilwell Olympia facilities and also the Weir Fields Pavilion for the Trent 5 race for free!

If you are able to help, please contact me on simonrun@me.com. If there are a few (6) people who could help set the course up that would be great, any time after 4.30 please. Many thanks, Simon

Message from Mark Rowlson: The Summer League is here. A quick explanation for new members. The Summer League is a series of races organised by Notts AAA. These races are open to all clubs affiliated to Notts AAA. The distances range from 5 miles to 10K on road or trail. There is no need to pre-enter these races and they are free to enter for members. Simply turn up in your club vest and run. You will be given a finishing token at the end. Please pass this token to me or what you'll probably end up doing is wait for me to finish and then pass the token to me! All races are on a Wednesday and start at 7.15pm. The dates and venues for 2019 are…

4. Well done and good luck: to everyone who ‘raced the train’ at the Peak Rail 7 on Easter Monday, a special mention for the winner Greg Hopkinson. What a fantastic turnout for the first Summer League! 53 of us turned out and avoided the rain for a lovely evening running round Hexgreave Park. We can’t wait for the course at Balderton on 29th May ….

In addition to those running the London Marathon, good luck wishes go to Beestonites undertaking the Kinder Downfall on the same day, the 3 Peaks race and any other races as well.

5. Welcome to: new members Matthew Southgate and Andy Granville – happy running with Beeston AC!
