Runs, races and rain with Beeston AC

BEESTON AC

Double Gravs Handicap: The 2019 Double Gravs race takes place next Wednesday 19th June. The distance is 5.5 miles and there is further information at http://beestonac.com/double-gravs . The race starts from Trent Vale Sports Grounds, Trent Vale Road, NG9 1DE with the first runner scheduled to start at 6.30 pm. Venue for drinks will be The Marina. The handicapper (me on this occasion!) will estimate how long a runner will take to complete the course and runners will be set off in reverse order, the theory being that everyone completes at the same time! If you want to have a go, please post on the Facebook post, message me or reply to this email. Closing date for entries: Midnight Monday 17 June, I regret it won’t be possible to enter on the day as we need to calculate handicaps in advance. The list of current entrants is attached up to 12 noon Thursday 13th – please check that your name is on if you have entered.

Many thanks to people who have already offered to marshal – I now have plenty!

Great Notts Bike Ride, Sunday 23 June: For members new to the club, some members like taking part in the annual Nottingham bike ride (see http://cyclelivenottingham.co.uk/) and most do the 50-mile ‘Friar Tuck’ (earliest start time). If you wish to join in, please check our club Facebook page for details of how to meet up with ‘the peloton’ on the way from Beeston to the starting point in Nottingham.
