Hi all – information about next week’s club runs and other news is below.
Welcome to: Will Harvey – happy running with Beeston AC!
The Mystery Pub Crawl will take place on Wednesday, 1 December – it will be a single bus ride of about 20 minutes to a group of 3 real ale pubs, with the aim to arrive at the first pub at 7.00 pm. Please meet in the Vic for 6 pm, then we will go to the bus stop nearby for the bus around 6.35 pm. If you have a bus pass or Mango phone app etc please bring it along!
Christmas Party: The Club Christmas party will be held on Friday, 10 December at Chilwell Golf Club. Please let Phil Herd know via the Facebook post or by email if you would like tickets, £15 each. Deadline TOMORROW Friday 26 November. Disco and late bar to 12 Midnight.
The Notts AAA Cross Country Championships 2022 will be held on Saturday, 8th January at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield. Please apply on the Notts AAA site. The Senior/Vet women’s race is approximately 8K and is at 11.55 am, with the Senior/Vet men running 10K at approximately 12.35 pm. The closing date for entries is Sunday, 12 December and it is £6 to enter.
Notts AAA Fell Running Championships 2022 – will be Wolf’s Pit race in March, date to be confirmed. It will act as the selection race for the Notts team for the British Inter-Counties Fell and Hill Championships in Llanberis.
Dates for 2022: Please see below for information about the County Championship races and Summer League dates for next year. For new members, Summer League races are free to enter as are the East Midlands and North Midlands Cross Country leagues; Club vests must be worn.
Ambleside: A few Beestonites are planning to tackle the Ambleside series of races again on 9 July 2022, booking into the Youth Hostel there (some reasonably priced hotels available in the town too). Entries at https://www.lakelandtrails.org/ultra#entry and the youth hostel website is here.

Club runs
Friday, 26 November: 6.25 for 6.30 pm depart, Chilwell Olympia. The run will be the Toton/Chilwell route in reverse. Toilets and changing rooms are available at Chilwell Olympia.
Saturday, 27 November: See you at Beeston parkrun, 9.00 am at the Weirfields, Beeston Rylands NG9 1LZ http://www.parkrun.org.uk/beeston/. Details of other local parkruns (including Wollaton Hall) are also available on the weblink. HQ are also putting together the Christmas Compendium at https://www.parkrun.org.uk/special-events/ – Beeston and Forest Rec are on for Christmas Day! Colwick and Gedling are both on for New Years Day so far. Sunday, 28 November: Please meet at 8.50 am for a 9.00 am start from Stanton Gate, Moorbridge Lane.
Tuesday, 30 November: Speed session – details will be posted on Facebook. Sessions start at 6.30 pm and please arrive early to warm up if appropriate.
Wednesday, 1 December: please arrive at 6.25 for 6.30 pm depart, Chilwell Olympia if you aren't off on the mystery tour. Penny and Chris are off to the pub but hoping to lead the improvers on their 10K on Saturday! We will be finishing with the Beeston parkrun. Gaby Neher is also leading trail runs most Thursdays, 6.30 pm which usually start by the Moor Lane running track, NG9 3FH. |

Holme Pierrepont RC are organising the Christmas Relays on Tuesday, 28 December at 10.30 – venue HP Country Park (car parking charges payable). Is anyone interested in this? It’s £20 per team – 2 x male, 2 x female. Get thinking up those team names! The run is about 4K.
Cross Country 2021/22:
The remaining North Midlands XC League races are: Shipley Country Park, Heanor (4 December) and Berry Hill Park, Mansfield (15 January). The ladies’ race will be at 13.50 (6K) and the men’s race (10K) at 14.20.
East Midlands XC League dates, 11.00 am start (2 laps for men, 1 for ladies):
Sunday, 23 January, Holme Pierrepont Country Park Sunday 30 January – Bramcote Hills Park Sunday 6 February – Colwick Woods Sunday 13 February – West Park, Long Eaton.
