Hi all – information about next week’s club runs and other news is below.
Many congratulations to Sophie Eadsforth and Andrew Taplin on being the Road League Champions for 2021! Trophies will be presented at the Christmas Party.
The AGM minutes have been circulated – if you attended and did not get a chance to add your name to the register please let me know and I can include your name.
The Mystery Pub Crawl will take place on Wednesday, 1 December – more details to follow but so far we know it will be a single bus ride of about 20 minutes to a group of 3 real ale pubs, with the drinking aiming to start at 7.00 pm.
The Notts AAA Cross Country Championships 2022 will be held on Saturday, 8th January at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield (a move from Wollaton Park). Please apply on the Notts AAA site if you would like to run. The Senior/Vet women’s race is approximately 8K and is at 11.55 am, with the Senior/Vet men running 10K at approximately 12.35 pm. The closing date for entries is Sunday, 12 December and it is £6 to enter.
Dates for 2022: Please see below for information about the County Championship races and Summer League dates for next year. For the information of new members, Summer League races are free to enter as are the East Midlands and North Midlands Cross Country leagues; Club vests must be worn.
Christmas Party: The Club Christmas party will be held on Friday, 10 December at Chilwell Golf Club. Please let Phil Herd know via the Facebook post or by email if you would like tickets, £15 each. Deadline Friday 26 November to book a place. Disco and late bar to 12 Midnight.
Ambleside: A few Beestonites are planning to tackle the Ambleside series of races again on 9 July 2022, booking into the Youth Hostel there (some reasonably priced hotels available in the town too). Entries at https://www.lakelandtrails.org/ultra#entry and the youth hostel website is here.

Club runs
Friday, 19 November: 6.25 for 6.30 pm depart, Chilwell Olympia. The run will be the Beeston parkrun route in reverse, so please bring a head or chest torch. Toilets and changing rooms are available at Chilwell Olympia.
Saturday, 20 November: See you at Beeston parkrun, 9.00 am at the Weirfields, Beeston Rylands NG9 1LZ http://www.parkrun.org.uk/beeston/. Details of other local parkruns (including Wollaton Hall) are also available on the web link. Sunday, 21 November: Please meet at 8.50 am for a 9.00 am start from Stanton Gate, Moorbridge Lane.
Tuesday, 23 November: Speed session – this is being organised by Nigel Turner this week – thanks Nigel! Please meet at 4 The Lawns, NG9 3NF, 6.30 pm. The session will comprise a warm-up, 4 x Bridle Road, 5 x Home Croft. Liquid refreshments available after!
Wednesday, 24 November: please arrive at 6.25 for 6.30 pm depart, Chilwell Olympia Penny and Chris have a group of Improvers setting off at the same time and it will be week 7 this week. Gaby Neher is also leading trail runs most Thursdays, 6.30 pm which usually start by the Moor Lane running track, NG9 3FH. |

Holme Pierrepont RC are organising the Christmas Relays on Tuesday, 28 December at 10.30 – venue HP Country Park (car parking charges payable). Is anyone interested in this? It’s £20 per team – 2 x male, 2 x female (senior and vet teams). Get thinking up those team names! The run is about 4K.
Cross Country 2021/22:
The North Midlands XC League races are: Wicksteed Park, Kettering (13 November), Shipley Country Park, Heanor (4 December) and Berry Hill Park, Mansfield (15 January). The ladies’ race will be at 13.50 (6K) and the men’s race (10K) at 14.20.
