Trent 5 News with Beeston AC


Hi all – details of news and runs below.


Trent 5 marshals: Thanks very much everyone who has volunteered to help out at the Trent 5 next Wednesday 25th May. Sophie, our lovely Chief Marshal, would like you to report to her at the Pavilion for 6.15 pm, which will allow everyone to be in place in good time for the start of the race at 7.15 pm.


A few volunteers are still needed for the Summer League 3 on Wednesday, 15th June. Thanks again to those who have already offered to marshal at Wollaton Park. If you aren’t on Facebook please email me and I will pass on your name.


Entries are now open for The Run on Wednesday, 27th July – see for details and the entry form. This race is on the road league calendar.



Club runs


Friday, 20 May: 6.25 for 6.30 pm depart, Chilwell Olympia. The run will be the reverse route to the Bus Stop, around 6 miles. Toilets and changing rooms are available at Chilwell Olympia.


Saturday, 21 May: See you at Beeston parkrun, 9.00 am at the Weirfields, Beeston Rylands NG9 1LZ Details of other local parkruns including Wollaton Hall are also available on the web link.


A few intrepid Beestonites are also tackling the 40-mile Dukeries race today; good luck all!


Sunday, 22 May: Please meet at 8.50 am for a 9.00 am start from Stanton Gate, Moorbridge Lane.


Tuesday, 24 May: The speed session: these are usually at the Moor Lane running track, NG9 3FH (though there may sometimes be hills elsewhere!). Further details of the session will be posted on Facebook. Sessions start at 6.30 pm; please arrive early to warm up if appropriate.


Wednesday, 25 May: It’s the Trent 5 tonight so no club run!! Many thanks to all of you who are marshalling and cheering on and good luck to the runners! The race is sold out so there won’t be any entries available on the night now.


Gaby Neher is also leading trail runs on Thursdays, 6.30 pm, meeting point to be confirmed on Facebook – the White Lion again today.

Summer League Info for 2022 (all between 5-6 miles in length, mixed surface). These are free to enter for Club members, just turn up in your vest:


SL3 Wollaton Park 15th June, 7.15 pm, NG8 2AE (Beeston AC is marshalling this one)

SL4 Worksop College 13th July, 7.15 pm, Worksop College, S80 3AP

SL5 Teversal 3rd August, 7.15 pm, Sutton-in-Ashfield NG17 3HJ.


County Championship Races for 2022


5K Newstead Abbey Dash (29 July 2022) still places available

10K Formula One, 19 August, 7.00 pm, University of Nottingham

Marathon, Leicester 9 October

No 10-mile race for 2022.


Notts County Development League: The next meeting is on 29 May at Newark, and 26 June and 4 September at Mansfield. Full details are at These events include a 3 x 1000m relay (5 x 200m for all 3 so for example each runner would run for 30 seconds and have 60 seconds rest). There will also be a 5K parlaaf, each runner running 200m, handing over then crossing the infield to resume start position.
