Runs and Races with Beeston AC

1. Club runs 12 to 17 July inclusive

Friday, 12 July – there will be a training run from Chilwell Olympia; meet in the foyer at 6.25 for a 6.30 pm depart. Distance 5-7 miles, usually drinks after in the Crown, from 9.00 pm onwards. Further information on Facebook.

Saturday, 13 July – Beeston parkrun, 9.00 am at the Weirfields, Beeston Rylands NG9 1LZ http://www.parkrun.org.uk/beeston/.

Sunday, 14 July – the Sunday run will be from Moorgreen led by Steve Mason.  Please meet near the Queens Head pub in Watnall, NG16 1HT, at 8.50 for a 9.00 am start. This will be a run on lanes and forest trails taking in Moorgreen Reservoir. Steve will post the route on Facebook before Sunday. Car sharing would be a good idea as parking may be limited. A number of the regular Sunday runners will be doing the Wrekin Relay this weekend as well.

Tuesday, 16 July speed:  Meet at 6.15 pm at the start of the access road to the Uni of Nottingham Sports Centre NG7 2RD for a warm up, session to follow at 6.30. Further details to follow on Facebook. Many thanks to Salome and Freddie for stepping in this week!

Tuesday, 16 July :  Tuesday Rebel Runners, Chilwell, The Village Hotel:  This is usually a 5K run (sometimes with other options); details of the run are posted weekly on the Rebel Runners Facebook page. Meet 6.30 pm in the foyer for 6.40 pm depart.

Wednesday, 17 July –  there will be a training run from Chilwell Olympia; meet in the foyer at 6.25 for a 6.30 pm depart. Drinks afterwards in the Vic.

3. Other upcoming races

The Tim Wealthall Miles and Richard Belton 5K take place on Friday, 19 July at Harvey Hadden Stadium from 7.00 pm. Please see https://nottsac.co.uk/entry-forms/tim-wealthall-miles-richard-belton-5k-friday-july-27th-2018/ for an entry form. £8.

The annual Kimberley Triathlon takes place on Sunday, 22 September. There are also support training workshops available at Kimberley Leisure Centre. Details here.

5. Well done to everyone who raced at the weekend, with a special mention for Simon Barnes on successfully completing the Battle of Hastings 100 mile race; a phenomenal achievement. Congratulations too to all who raced at the Worksop Summer League and the Holme Pierrepont GP series runners – a winning ladies’ team, category prizes and PBs galore! Good luck to everyone racing this coming weekend, including the teams going to Shrewsbury to tackle the Wrekin Relay Challenge.
