BEESTON AC

1. Club runs 21 December 2018 to 2 January 2019 inclusive

 

Friday, 21 December – there will be a training run from Chilwell Olympia; meet in the foyer at 6.25 for a 6.30 pm depart. Distance 5-7 miles, drinks after in the Crown, usually from 9.00 pm onwards. Further information on Facebook.

 

Saturday, 22 December – Beeston parkrun, 9.00 am at the Weirfields, Beeston Rylands NG9 1LZ http://www.parkrun.org.uk/beeston/ .

 

Sarah Lightman and her Rebel Runner friend Steve will be walking Beeston parkrun this Saturday with a group to remember loved ones who have died, and people are invited to join the group if they feel this would be of benefit.

Sunday, 23 December – the weekly Sunday run is from Moorbridge Lane, Stanton Gate, meeting time is 8.50 am to start at 9.00 am, distance about 10 miles over footpaths and trails.

 

Monday, 24 December – the annual run on Christmas Eve from Chilwell Olympia – meet 11.50 for 12 Noon depart. Please note the Olympia will be closed from 2.00 pm. Drinks after at the Vic.

 

Tuesday, 25 December:  if you fancy a lively start to Christmas Day, put on your Santa hat and costume and run with hundreds of other (over 500 last year!) at Forest Rec parkrun, Gregory Boulevard, NG7 6HB, 9.00 am.

 

Wednesday, 26 December – the traditional Club Boxing Day run round Wollaton Park – 4 to 9 miles (or whatever you fancy!). Meet in the car park in front of the Hall, at 8.50 am for a 9.00 am depart. There may be a car parking charge.

 

Friday, 28 December – there will be a training run from Chilwell Olympia; meet in the foyer at 6.25 for a 6.30 pm depart. Distance 5-7 miles, drinks after in the Crown, usually from 9.00 pm onwards. Further information on Facebook. Please note the Olympia will close at 7.00 pm. Drinks after in the Crown (around 9 pm on).

3. Well done:

 

to all the Karaoke stars at the Club party – and to Jane and Penny for organising. Congratulations to Mark “Tammy” Rowlson – do you need any help spending the vouchers!

 

There were a couple of items left behind – a black glittery cardigan and a cream wool scarf – please get in touch if you know who the owners are.

 

4. Good luck:

 

To everyone doing the XC County Champs at Wollaton Park – entry list at www.nottsaaa.org – 25 participants! Supporters very welcome, hopefully a drink after!

 

5. Other Cross Country Events

 

The National Cross Country Championships will be at Harewood House near Leeds on Saturday, 23 February. Dan has a plan for people to drive up (car sharing if possible) with the option of a stop-over in Leeds (Premier Inn, Leeds City Centre, Whitehall Road is suggested) on Saturday. Please email Dan Rawson if you would like to go and he will send in entries – cost £8. The Midlands XC Championships are at Newbold Comyn, Leamington on Saturday 26 January. Money needs to be with Dan (£9) by the end of December.
