Beeston AC News

Hi everyone – details of news and runs below.

It was a great night out on Derby Road in Nottingham – hope you all had a good time and are looking forward to the Christmas Party next week!

Notts AAA XC County Championships:

Entries are now open for the Notts AAA Cross Country Championships, to be held in Markeaton Park, Derby on Saturday 7 January 2023 (not Shipley Country Park as previously advised). The Senior/Vet Women's race (approx 8 km) is at 11:55, the Senior/Vet Men's race (approx 10 km) is at 12:35.

To be eligible to take part you need to have been born in Nottinghamshire or to have lived in the county continuously for 9 months.

Entry is via – you will need to create an account if you don't already have one. Closing date 17 December 2022 for entries.

(As usual, the championships are held in association with Derbyshire AAA and races are run with combined fields – if you are eligible for that county instead, you can enter their champs via and still get points in the club league.)

Today also sees the Turkey Trot taking place at Keyworth – good luck to all those taking part! I’m sure we’ll be rehydrating after 😊.

Advance Notice: next week Sunday 18th December sees the return of the spectacular head torch Two Bridges run – for those wishing to run the full distance, please meet with head torch, water and food etc for a 6.00 am start from Beeston Marina.  I am hoping to lead out a group at 7.30 am who will run in the opposite direction (5 miles out and 5 miles back – though we went a little further last year!), hopefully meeting up with those on the longer run so that both groups will return together for a hot drink at the Boathouse Café on finishing!
