4. Brooks try on evening at Up and Running, Huntingdon Street

Jess Harrison has kindly arranged a try on night at Up and Running for Beeston AC members, for 6.00 pm onwards on Thursday, 25 October. The Brooks rep will be there with a selection of running shoes and running bras for people to try on. There would be an option of going for a short run (probably around 5K) to test out the goods at about 6.30/6.45 pm. There would be no pressure to buy anything, but Club members can get 10% off all full price stock. There is the option to go for a drink after as well. If you are interested, please can you complete the poll on the Club’s Facebook page.

5. Voting for Athlete of the Year and notification of the AGM

An email listing the nominees, together with details on how to vote, will be circulated separately to first claim registered members. 6. Indoor Athletics for Road Runners: message from David Lisgo, Notts Athletics Network

Everyone that took part in the Track Races for Road Runners at Bingham track in August should consider entering this event and try out an indoor  race over either 800m or 3,000m. Athletes will be graded on ability. In previous year runners of all standards have competed. Entry forms for Indoor competitions attached. These are for competitions to be held at the E.I.S Indoor track at Sheffield on Sunday 25th November 2018.

The Open Graded competition will be held in the afternoon. Athletes compete in races / pools against athletes of similar ability and not by age group or gender. Events are open to ALL age groups. This is NOT an elite only event – all abilities are catered for. Electronic timing will be in operation.

Please bring this to the attention of as many athletes, coaches, parents and team managers as possible. This is an opportunity for athletes to compete in the major indoor venue in the country on an iconic prestigious track.

7. Welcome: to Siân Adiseshiah (second claim); happy running with Beeston AC!

8. Updated fell league: Results of current standings are attached.

9. Message from Rob Evans

Magic Mountain on Vernon Avenue (near Sainsburys) are selling Altra Escalante trainers (£140 RRP) for £52.50 with club discount. These were editor’s choice in Runners World last week and a real bargain! They have zero drop from heel to toe so if you are into barefoot shoes, these may be for you. I have recently picked up some Ron Hill clothing bargains there myself, so well worth a visit!

10. Well done

To another ultra-runner this week, Sarah Lightman, who completed 75 miles in the Equinox race – fantastic effort Sarah!
